New product for electronic data interchange between primary and reinsurers
Munich, 9th October 2008. The IT consulting and system integration company msg systems ag introduced a new product in its range of reinsurance solutions at inscom 2008 in Munich: msg.XDI stands for "Exchange Data Interface" and supports the electronic data exchange between primary and reinsurance companies. msg.XDI uses the international ACORD communication standard. Therefore, the content product solution based on SAP Process Integration is able to connect arbitrary and even heterogeneous systems with the reinsurance solution SAP Reinsurance Management. Thus, msg.XDI facilitates a seamless integration of primary insurer, broker, reinsurer and retrocessionaire. The data exchange is conducted in automated form, for example via web services, e-mail, Excel or text files. A time-consuming and fault-laden manual input is avoided – msg.XDI thus helps companies which use SAP and the SAP reinsurance solution to make substantial cost-savings through standardization and the acceleration of processes. In cooperation with its clients, msg systems has successfully tested a first version. With this first release data on individual risks (policies), damages and invoices can be received and fed into the reinsurance solution SAP Reinsurance Management (incoming side). Accounting information can be extracted from it and sent to external recipients (outgoing side).
