As the result of strong growth, the IT company is expanding its management team – with a candidate from its own ranks
Munich, 1 October 2009. msg systems ag, the sixth-largest IT consulting and system integration company in Germany, has named Frank Plechinger to be a new member of the executive management team. Effective immediately, the university graduate in computer science will assume responsibility for the Products & Development and Government Divisions as well as for the staff position in the Insurance Business Strategy Division within the company. By naming Frank Plechinger, msg systems ag is expanding its four-person management team which consists of the CEO and company founder Hans Zehetmaier as well as the managing directors Karl-Martin Klein, Volker Reichenbach and Dr. Dirk Taubner to five members. Giving the strategic orientation a clearer focus “This step is the logical result of our strong national and international growth”, explains Hans Zehetmaier. “In recent years, we have expanded, set up national companies and acquired stakes in renowned companies. Thus, the duties within our group of companies, particularly in the Insurance Division, have become more comprehensive and more complex. By expanding the management team, we wish to optimise the strategic orientation and the steering of organisational units even more. Frank Plechinger is precisely the right person to add to the team in this case. He is very familiar with the internal structures of our company, has excellent knowledge of the insurance industry and has already done valuable work on many strategically important projects.” Plechinger has held managerial positions at msg systems since 1998; previously, he had worked as a corporate consultant on insurance matters as well as in public service. At msg systems, he has managed, among others, the SAP Development Center in Passau and participated in the reorganisation of the Insurance Division. Since 2005, the 40-year-old has managed the Products & Development Division and been responsible for product development as well as strategic customer development for the insurance industry. Furthermore, he is a member of the administrative board of msg global solutions ag and the executive committee of msg systems Romania. Sending a message with an internal appointment Owing to his career at msg systems, Frank Plechinger is very familiar with the procedures and decision-making methods used at the company and has solid experience in relationship management.
